Luv 2 Meet U in Calderdale

15 November 2013

“We are really grateful to People’s Health Trust for seeing the potential in this project and for supporting us to help people with learning disabilities in Calderdale.”

As well as being a place to find friendship, Luv2meetU offers employment and volunteering opportunities increasing the self-confidence and skills of their members. They also offer time off for families and carers all of which increases independence, self-esteem, choice and puts their members in control.

People’s Health Trust funding enabled them to set up and run a project for local people with learning disabilities called ‘Healthy Living Together’. Based in Calderdale, the project brings people together through a range of activities including cooking, archery and Zumba. The workshops encourage people to make friends, socialise and support each other.

“We’re delighted to have the opportunity to support Luv2MeetU members. We are really grateful to People’s Health Trust for seeing the potential in this project.” Karen, Luv2MeetU Project Development Manager
