Online resources page to support community projects

09 September 2021

People’s Health Trust has recently published an online resources page to support community organisations with their work. The page has links to helpful tools, education materials, third sector and governmental support services and, advice on running your project.

Our Active Communities funding programme has supported over 3,200 projects in hundreds of towns, cities and villages across Great Britain. Our funded partners are doing amazing work tackling health inequalities in their communities. Over the past two years, the COVID-19 pandemic has shown just how important community organisations are in supporting local residents but also how important it is for people to be able to work together to deliver change.

Our new online resources page aims to support organisations to be able to deliver change more effectively and use existing tools to support their staff, volunteers, project participants and community as a whole.

For example digital inclusion has become a more prominent issue that our funded partners have taken steps to address during the pandemic. It has been important both for project participants and facilitators to learn new digital skills to remain connected with their communities and continue to deliver projects. Good Things Foundation is a charity offering digital skills resources and courses to help tackle the digital divide.

Sharing skills, knowledge and resources is an effective way of ensuring community organisations can provide the most support possible to their communities. As new obstacles present themselves in communities that have been severely impacted by COVID-19 it is even more important that existing knowledge is accessible.

People’s Health Trust Head of Grant Programmes, Susan Brown, said:

“Covid-19 has presented many challenges to our funded partners, in terms of how and what they deliver, their financial health, and the health of practitioners and volunteers. This resource page is intended to help funded partners to deliver their projects and additional support to the communities they work in by providing access to information and resources which they can access in their own time and as often as required.”

You can view the resources page on our website here.

If you know any great resources or networks that our funded partners and other community organisations can benefit from let us know by emailing [email protected].
