Transition Town Forres

09 November 2017

This new video from Transition Town Forres is a moving snapshot of the power that taking control locally can bring people.

Residents in Forres, north-east Scotland are coming together to improve their wellbeing. The Forres Wellbeing Project offers classes to residents over 50 in the local area.

Classes include meditation and mindfulness, yoga, arts and crafts and painting and textiles.

Funded by People’s Health Trust, using money raised by HealthKind through The Health Lottery, participants outline the incredible impact the classes are having on wellbeing in this short video they made together.

The idea for the project came about through a pilot project tested out by Transition Town Forres, and the feedback was so overwhelmingly positive and residents felt so much better that they knew they had to source funding to offer the sessions over the longer-term.

In the video, local people note how much calmer and more relaxed they are, as well as how much happier coming together makes them.

People’s Health Trust invested £39,320 in Transition Town Forres. To find out more about Transition Town Forres, click here to visit their website.
