The Health Lottery Tea Party celebrated groups and organisations in communities across Great Britain that are helping to make where they live an even better place,

The Conservation Volunteers (TCV) invited Labour Party Leader Ed Miliband, John Hume, Chief Executive of People’s Health Trust, and Richard Desmond, owner of The Health Lottery, to their Green Gym in Doncaster to show them the valuable work they are carrying out in the grounds of St Catherine’s Hospital.

Nicola Greenan, Development Manager at Leeds 14 Trust, said: “We have launched a new monthly market, thanks to funding from People's Health Trust. Our first market day was a great success. People got together to trade local goods and to meet up with their neighbours.  It was a great community atmosphere.”

Leeds 14 Trust, a local not-for-profit group, wanted to start the market as a place for local people to get together to buy and sell goods and learn new skills, such as market trading.
