About us
Using money raised by 51 local society lotteries, we support local community interest company communities to identify and fund priorities in their area which help people to have longer healthier lives.
Our independence and expertise
We are an independent registered charity, regulated by the Charity Commission and the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator. We support the Community Interest Companies and their local communities by providing expertise on addressing health inequalities and on grant making.
Our objectives
We want to ensure people live longer healthier lives. To achieve this we want our work to be:
- forward-thinking – we will help local community interest company communities to develop priorities to tackle some of the most challenging local health inequalities
- practical – we’ll work with the local community interest company communities to ensure the grants make local communities: stronger and healthier, sustainable and diverse
Who can receive funding
Funding can be to a wide range of organisations but they must be not for profit and actively operate within the local community interest company area for which the money has been raised. Examples of the kind of organisations we work with are:
- local community groups;
- local charities;
- social enterprises operating locally.
