People’s Health Trust is proud to be part of many impactful national campaigns and coalitions that share our goal to tackle the root causes of health inequality, create new evidence for what works, and bring about structural change.
The NIHR School for Public Health Research (SHPR)
Through a major research collaboration, People’s Health Trust is working with the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) School for Public Health Research (SPHR) on a new pilot scheme that aims to evaluate voluntary sector initiatives which are developed and delivered by communities. The Trust’s Health Justice Fund priorities on Good Work for Young People’s Mental Health, and Discrimination and Health, are both being evaluated by world-leading academics and health economists drawn from a coalition of universities. Funders for Race Equality Alliance
People’s Health Trust is a long-standing member of the Funders for Race Equality Alliance, which provides a network of funding organisations committed to addressing racial inequalities in systems and communities in the UK. Every year, the Trust submits data as part of FREA’s racial justice audit tool, which has shown a year-on-year increase in the proportion of the Trust’s grants reaching organisations focusing on tacking racial injustice. Read the 2025 audit report here.
Health Equals
People's Health Trust is a founding member of Health Equals – a UK-wide campaign for improving health opportunities, backed by a coalition of over 100 organisations across different sectors and areas of focus — from employment to housing, education and the environment — who all want to make a positive difference to society’s health and wellbeing. To support this work, People’s Health Trust has provided the Campaign Advisory Group, drawn from across our network of community experts, who have provided insight and guidance to Health Equals’ campaigns. We have also provided community storytellers, whose testimony has helped secure national and regional media coverage. Find out more here.
Living Wage Funder
The Trust is a Living Wage Funder, employer and founding member of the Living Wage Funders group, which commits to help end low pay in the voluntary and community sector.
We’re Right Here
The Trust is a long-term supporter of We’re Right Here, a national campaign driven by community leaders that has successfully influenced parliamentarians to create legislation to increase community power, namely through the English Devolution and Community Empowerment Bill. Once law, this could have a transformative impact on how communities and local people are involved in decisions that affect the places where they live.
