Max Rutherford

Max joined the Trust in 2022. He leads on the Trust’s grant programmes, and its policy, public affairs and evaluation work. Before joining the Trust, Max was Head of policy and practice at the Association of Charitable Foundations, the membership body for grant-making charities in the UK, where he led its Stronger Foundations initiative. He previously worked for the Barrow Cadbury Trust where he led its criminal justice programme, and served as a member of the Charities SORP Committee for three years. He has been a trustee of a brain injury charity and a Council for Voluntary Service (CVS), and is currently Vice-Chair of Trustees at Revolving Doors, a national charity that aims to break the cycle of crisis and crime.
